Amjad Islam Amjad (August 4, 1944 – February 10, 2023) breathed his last today. He was 79. He was one of the most renowned poet, author and play-writer of our time. He was, exactly, the personality that not requires any introduction. Graduated from the University of the Punjab, Amjad Islam Amjad served as teacher in MAO College, Lahore. He also served as Director, Pakistan Television as well as Director General, Urdu Science Board Lahore and Children Library Complex, Lahore. He also provided his input in the affairs of the Iqbal Academy Pakistan as co-opted members of a committee regarding production of film on Allama Iqbal.
