Visit of Federal Secretary, National Heritage and Culture Division to Iqbal Academy Pakistan, Lahore

Federal Secretary National Heritage and Culture Division Ms. Farina Mazhar visited Iqbal Academy Pakistan, Lahore on 22 December 2022. Meanwhile, she met with Prof Dr. Baseera Ambareen, Director Iqbal Academy Pakistan and the staff of the Academy. In this meeting, Director Iqbal Academy Pakistan apprised her about the ongoing projects in Iqbal Academy Pakistan and the problems of the Academy which included time scale promotion of staff, appointment to vacant posts and approval of funds for the publications of the Academy. The Secretary assured to solve the problems and encouraged the ongoing projects of the Academy.

Later, she visited the sales office of the Academy in Aiwan Iqbal Complex. She was told that after the renovation and restoration project of Allama Iqbal's residence on McLeod Road has started under the supervision of Archeology department, all the books of the Academy have been transferred from there to the sale office in Aiwan Iqbal Complex. Which was appreciated by the Secretary.

She also visited the library of the Academy and saw the books being studied by Allama Iqbal in his personal library. Director Academy told her that with the collaboration of Punjab University, work is also going on the project of digitizing the books of Allama Iqbal's personal library and uploading them on the websites of Iqbal Academy and Punjab University, which was appreciated by the Federal Secretary. She expressed satisfaction on this project to preserve the books of personal library of Allama Iqbal.
