International Women's Day
Organized by Unique Group of Institutions at Governor House, Lahore.
In the eve of International Women's Day, a special event to acknowledge the eminent ladies serving in Education, Literature, Society, Politics and other walks of life was organized by Unique Group of Institutions at Governor House, Lahore. Besides prominent Women from cities, women serving in remote areas were also invited. On this occasion, the student also recited poetry. Ms. Parveen Sarwar, Head of Sarwar Foundation was the Chief Guest. In her address, she said that the government is not only continuing its struggle to solve the problems of health and education but also taking special steps to give women the right to inheritance. Islam emphasizes women's rights but despite being about fifty percent of the society, women are deprived of even basic rights and that is why a large number of women are unable to avail even basic facilities like education and health. In successful societies, women are given special importance at the social level, she added. Speaking on the occasion, Chairperson Unique Group of Institutions Begum Sadia Khurram said that in Unique Group of Institutions, female students are made a part of extra-curricular which helps on their social training. At the ceremony, souvenirs were honored to the women who have rendered outstanding services in various walks of life. Director Iqbal Academy Pakistan Prof. Dr. Baseera Ambreen who delivered exceptional performance as the head of the institution during in the critical condition of Coronavirus pandemic and disseminated the message of Allama Iqbal to the entire world using modern technology was also decorated with souvenir.
