Visit of Mr. Zahir Shah, Joint Secretary (Organizations) Government of Pakistan, National Heritage & Culture Division to Iqbal Academy Pakistan, Lahore

Mr. Zahir Shah, Joint Secretary (Organizations) Government of Pakistan, National Heritage & Culture Division to Iqbal Academy Pakistan visited Iqbal Academy Pakistan on Tuesday the 7th June, 2022.

The Joint Secretary had a detailed meeting with the Director and section heads of Iqbal Academy Pakistan.

Prof. Dr. Baseera Ambreen, Director, Iqbal Academy Pakistan briefed her about the charter, functioning and performance about the Iqbal Academy Pakistan. A presentation was given to him regarding these issues.

Joint Secretary appreciated performance of Iqbal Academy regarding promotion of message of Allama Muhammad Iqbal. He advised that apart from publication of books from sale account an amount may be specified for publication of books from regular budget of Academy. In case of deficiency of funds the division will provide supplementary grant and special assistance for deficiency of funds the Division will provide supplementary grant and special assistance for publication of the books.

Joint Secretary appreciated the outreach activities of Iqbal Academy Pakistan. He was also briefed about the activities of Academy regarding promotion of thought of Allama Iqbal which include Conferences, Seminars and Lectures of renowned Iqbal Scholars. He was told that these activities of Iqbal Academy Pakistan have engaged a large part of society.

He advised that promotion of the employees may not be stopped. He also advised Iqbal Academy Pakistan to implement e-office in the Academy. He appreciated the publications of books, shifting of Academy's website to NITB CMS, uploading of books on Iqbal Cyber Library, holding online lectures and sharing them on social media.

At the end, he visited Academy Sale Office at Aiwan-e-Iqbal Complex.

He advised the Academy to send a case of grant from Cultural Heritage Fund for restoration and renovation of McLeod Road building.
