Iqbal and Tasawaf seminar held in the historical educational institute of Jamia Muhammadia Chiniot
A seminar on Iqbal and Sufism was organized in Pakistan's historical educational institution, Jamia Muhammadia Chiniot on 8th October 2022, in which Dr. Tahir Hameed Tanoli from Iqbal Academy Pakistan spoke on the topic. He described the history of Sufism and explained the role of Allama Iqbal in understanding, clarifying, reforming and promoting the teachings of Tasawaf. He said that Tasawaf has been an important part of shaping the Muslim society in our history. However, like other temptations and disorders that arose in the period of decline, the field of Sufism gradually became less effective in fulfilling its role as in the past. He said that the effective role of Sufism can be revived through the corrective measures that Allama Iqbal has pointed out while mentioning the academic, cultural and cultural problems of the modern era. He said that Allama Iqbal not only in his poetry but also in his prose has explained the connection between the teachings of Tasawaf and the questions facing the national life. Allama Iqbal gave three lectures out of the seven lectures of his famous Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam, a compilation of modern theology of Islam, directly on various topics of Tasawaf. The moral revival that our society needed today is not possible without reviving and activating the effective role of Tasawaf and the teachings of Allama Iqbal provide clear guidance for achieving this goal. Principal, teachers, heads and students of Jamia Muhammadiyah participated in the seminar.
