Obituary: Sultan Zahoor Akhtar





Renowned author, translator and life member of the Iqbal Academy Pakistan, Colonel (retd) Sultan Zahoor Akhtar Kayani breathed his last on June 3, 2022. He was 92. Sultan Zahoor Akhtar was son of Allama Iqbal’s time-tested friend Raja Hassan Akhtar, besides a bodyguard of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and an active participant of Pakistan Movement. He was awarded the Gold Medal of Tehreek-e-Pakistan. His English translation and transliteration of Allama Iqbal’s Shikwa and Jawab-e-Shikwa (Representaion and Reply) has been published by the Iqbal Academy Pakistan.
