A special ceremony in honor of the well-known educationist and poet Professor Abdul Haq Murad

A special ceremony was held on January 11, 2023 in Iqbal Academy Pakistan in honor of the well-known educationist and poet Professor Abdul Haq Murad, who translated  the Holy Quran into Urdu in poetry. Director of Iqbal Academy Pakistan Prof. Dr. Baseera Ambareen, officers and staff of the Academy participated in the ceremony.

Prof. Abdul Haq Murad talked about his versed Urdu translation of the Holy Qur'an, Nawae Quran . He discussed the details and history of the versed translations of the Holy Quran and made the features of the Nawae Quran the subject of discussion. Director, Iqbal Academy Pakistan Prof. Dr. Baseera Ambareen, while talking about his Urdu translation Nawae Quran, said that this translation is very smooth, concise and succinct. Avoiding unnecessary length while translating verses into poems is proof of the translator's command over language and expression and his poetic skill.

She said that the government of Pakistan has included the study of Quran translation as a subject in educational institutions. If the versified translation of a few surahs of the Holy Qur'an is included in the curriculum, it will be easier for the new generation to memorize it. She suggested that a versified translation of a few selected hadiths and prayers should also be done. At the end of the ceremony, Prof. Abdul Haq Murad presented a copy of the versed translation of Holy Quran for the library of Iqbal Academy Pakistan.
