The First meeting of the Steering Committee for "Project for the Restoration and Repair of Allama Iqbal Ancient Residence"

The Department of Archeology and Museum organized the first meeting of the Steering Committee for "Project for the Restoration and Repair of Allama Iqbal Ancient Residence" at 116-McLeod Road located in Allama Iqbal Ancient Residence was held on February 9, 2023.

The members of the Steering Committee Dr. Abdul Azim Director General (DOM), Mr. Muneeb Iqbal (Subt-e-Iqbal), Prof. Dr. Baseera Ambareen (Director Iqbal Academy Pakistan), Ms. Sajda H. Vandal (Former Principal National College of Arts), Mr. Malik Maqsood (Director Department of Archaeology) Mr. Engineer Naeem Iqbal (Project Director Jahangir Tomb), Mr. Wajahat Ali, Project Manager Aga Khan Cultural Trust, Lahore and Engineer Muhammad Azim attended the meeting.

The meeting formally started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. The participants of the meeting were briefed on the project for the restoration and repair of the ancient residence Allama Iqbal slide. The participants of the meeting were told that the project will be worked on in three ways. The dilapidated condition of the building will be improved, the drainage system will be fully restored and the building will be converted into a museum.
