Residence of Allama Iqbal

Lahore (Sunday, 18th September 2022) A session was organized at 116 McLeod Road, Lahore, the ancient residence of Allama Muhammad Iqbal  to commemorate the 100 years of Hazrat Allama's stay in this residence (1922-1935).Grandson of  Iqbal Mian Iqbal Salahuddin presided over  the session organized by  renowned Iqbal scholar, Director of Iqbal Academy, Prof. Dr. Baseera Ambreen. Young Iqbal scholar Hasan Raza Iqbali gave the keynote speech about historical background. The participants of the meeting then visited the residence and Director Iqbal Academy briefed them about the historical background of each part. Mian Iqbal Salahuddin saw the birth place of his mother Begum Muneera Bano and also planted a fruit plant in the premises of the residence. Mr. Irshad Al-Mujeeb, Zaheer Ahmed,  Zaman Khan, Ms. Nureed Fatima, Mr. Muhammad Usman and A few young scholars associated with Dabistan-e-Iqbal were also present. It is pertinent to mention that the renovation and construction project of this ancient residence of Allama Iqbal has been started under the Federal Archeology Department Islamabad (DOAM) and in this context the Director General DOAM Engr. Abdul Azeem has visited the site in this regard.
